I'm working on a GettingStarted page - a guide for new parents in Takoma Park. With practical stuff, like "how to meet people that could be friends in those first few shocking months." "How to be friends with stricter parents."
Parenting in TakomaPark is a challenge, but we have one advantage: each other, and a tradition of community organizing to make the important things easier.
The TakomaPakk parenting email list is that community organizing; however the list is transitory and it would be nice to have a place to stash the more enduring bits of wisdom from that list. Hence, this web site.
Please note that all the pages are editable by anyone, so you can add or edit information easily. I (ChrisAustinLane ) have started reviewing the mailing list archives, but so far have only reached a few months back and have skipped all contractor type questions.
Don't worry about editing - all versions are backed up, so if you think something important was lost, just email me and I can restore the old text.
