I've been a parent in Takoma Park for almost 7 years. I used to be part-time stay at home, and part time paid, and then full time paid, and now full time at home. The last version of this page had me whining about how much I missed being part-time at home, and indeed after my littlest started walking (and being so interesting) and my oldest went to kindergarten (shocking me with how brief is "early childhood") I quit my job. The money, that I miss. The excuse to learn common lisp and read blogs, I miss. But the connection, the knowledge of the myriad events in two children's days, that I thoroughly enjoy, at least until you know 5 pm or so.
